Engine Side Fuel Return Adapter for 996 Turbo
What are they for?
- When upgrading your fuel system the Fuel Return Adapter for 996 Turbo will make adapting to the oem chassis line a snap!
- These will slide right over the oem chassis side return line fitting and provide a 14×1.5mm to 6AN or 8AN male fitting for you to connect to.
- This will help improve the flow of your fuel system when upgrading to high flow fuel pumps like the Protomotive Single Walbro 450 drop in, or Protomotive Dual Walbro 450 fuel pump upgrade.
- For E85 Upgrades it allows teflon lined Aeroquip hose to be used on the engine and adapted to the oem return that’s already E85 ready.
- This is for the engine side return line while maintaining the OEM chassis side return line.
Can I do this myself?
- Sure you can! This makes it easy for you 🙂
- If you need help with the rest of the fuel system, AN fittings, or lines, just ask.
- We stock a lot of these to build our complete fuel systems and may have exactly what you need!
What are they made of?
- CNC machined out of billet 6061-T6 Aluminum and black anodized for a long lasting upgrade.
- The Protomotive Logo is laser etched into the Anodizing for a fun, custom appearance.
How can I check for leaks?
- With the engine still in the car, and all of your fuel system connected you can either use a Durametric cable or Piwis to activate the fuel pump.
- You can also quickly crank the engine over to build some pressure then check the fitting for any drips or smell of fuel.
- The return line has very little to no pressure on it, so it won’t spray like the pressure side would when the pumps are on and running.
- With the engine out of the car, connect the Fuel Return adapter fitting for 996 turbo to a 6AN to 14×1.5 metric conversion fitting. Cap the male 6AN fitting, then pressurize the fitting with a rubber tipped blow gun.
- Spray some soapy water on the fitting to be sure there’s no bubbles.
Can I watch a video explaining some of this?
- Of course 🙂
- Check out Your 996 turbo fuel system has a secret! on YouTube or in our Tech Library
- And Engineering Explained: Fuel Injectors, pumps and More! (Tech Talk) on YouTube.
Are any extra parts required?
- 8AN or 6AN to 14×1.5mm metric conversion fitting
- Approx 18″ of 6AN or 8AN teflon lined hose to route to the fuel cooler.
- 6AN or 8AN weld bung at the fuel cooler.
- This will get you from the fuel cooler to the adapter and oem chassis return.
- We do have complete fuel systems that will have these all in a nice kit for you!
Note: This sale is for a single black anodized aluminum adapter ONLY. For AN adapter fittings, please email or call.
