Machine for big bore pistons
Why do you need this?
- When upgrading your engine you may be installing oversized pistons and liners
- When upgrading to a 4.1 using our 103.6 pistons and liners you’ll need to have the case machined
- These have a larger liner on the OD that requires boring of the block and liner carriers.
What is this for?
- This is labor only for machining 996tt, 997.1TT blocks and liner carriers
- No parts are included in this pricing.
What is the process?
- The blocks are cleaned and fixtured, to precisely locate and align the oem bores
- We find the used blocks to be slightly shrunk after use and not aligning to a standard 118mm bore pattern
- This is repaired when updating to the larger bore
- The liner carriers are carefully milled along with the blocks to ensure precise alignment
- Most are finished at 109mm bore diameter vs. 107mm oem. Custom sizes can be accomodated.
