Rod Bearings for Stroker Cranks and Rods
Why do I need these?
- When running Protomotive Stroker Cranks and Rods, be sure to use the proper bearings!
- These are sized correctly for the best strength and durability when running our Stroker Cranks and rods
What do they fit?
- 1989-1993 Porsche 964 Carrera with 80.4 / 82.4 Stroker Cranks
- 1991-1992 Porsche C2 Turbo with 80.4 / 82.4 Stroker Cranks
- 1993-1994 Porsche 3.6 Turbo with 80.4 / 82.4 Stroker Cranks
- 1994-1998 Porsche 993 Carrera with 80.4 / 82.4 Stroker Cranks
- 1995-1998 Porsche 993 Turbo with 80.4 / 82.4 Stroker Cranks
- 2001-2005 Porsche 996 Turbo with 80.4 / 82.4 Stroker Cranks
- 2007-2009 Porsche 997.1 Turbo with 80.4 / 82.4 Stroker Cranks
- 2010-2013 Porsche 997 GT2 RS with 80.4 / 82.4 Stroker Cranks

- They also fit Porsche 996 and 997 GT3 engines with the 9676, 9679, 9776 and 9779 engines on OEM cranks.
- They do not fit the 4.0 GT3 engine
- These do not fit stock 993, 996 and 997.1 Turbo crankshafts
Are these for Racing?
- We offer both coated and uncoated bearings.
- We recommend the coated for racing and uncoated for street engines.
- Please specify in the purchase notes if you’d like coated as the standard sale will be uncoated street bearings
How many do I need?
- A purchase of 1 will get a SET of 6 pair of rod bearings.
- That’s 12 half shells.
- Note: be aware many other sites are selling these individually or half shells for more attractive pricing.
What size rod journal do these fit?
- 53mm Rod Journal Diameter
- 22mm Rod Journal Width
- These fit Proto Stroker Rods and Crankshafts
What else will I need for the bottom end rebuild?
- Intermediate Shaft Bearings
- Main Bearings
- Engine Gasket Kit 996 Turbo, 997 Turbo
- Always inspect the intermediate shaft bolts! Peen, loctite or safety wire them if you’re not running a gt3 intermediate shaft.
- Inspect and/or Replace your oil pump. Gt3 oil pumps are great! Auto Verdi are even more fun…
