Stroker cranks for 930 964 993 GT3 996t 997t
Features:
- Forged and polished billet cranks available in 80.4 stroke.
- We’re running the 996 GT3 3.6/3.8 rod bearings on 53mm journals for high torque and power setups to provide the best oiling cushion to keep your rod bearings alive.
- Protomotive stroker cranks utilize the OEM style oiling with slightly enlarged passages for the best reliability.
- Standard fitment of the Intermediate shaft drive gear as opposed to the 4.0 gt3 factory crank that has a large shoulder and requires a 4.0 gear or machine work.
- 80.4 with rods are a drop in and typically require no clearancing.
- 82.4 require minor clearance / checking to oil pump / case.
- Lower your rotating mass weights at 30.5lbs vs. 33.0 on a stock crank.
How to build a 4.1 996 / 997.1 Turbo
- Use Protomotive 103.6 pistons and cylinders with longer liners designed for the stroker kits
- Also use 125mm stroker rods to complete the kit.

Why do Stroker cranks make more power?
- Stroker cranks increase the displacement of the engine, thus the total air moved per revolution. More air moved equates to more power.
- Stroker cranks have higher piston velocities. Due to the longer stroke, the piston travels further during each revolution of the engine. This means the piston is moving more quickly to accomplish this. The higher piston speed tends to improve the volumetric efficiency especially at lower rpm where smaller engines really need it!
- Boost response is improved due to the higher volume of air being moved from the displacement increase and improved volumetric efficiency.
- This all ends up making for an amazing engine with a very broad power curve that’s awesome for the street and track!
What else will I need for the bottom end rebuild?
- Main Bearings
- Rod Bearings
- Intermediate Shaft Bearings
- Engine Gasket Kit 996 Turbo, 997 Turbo
- Always inspect the intermediate shaft bolts! Peen, loctite or safety wire them if you’re not running a gt3 intermediate shaft.
- Inspect and/or Replace your oil pump. Gt3 oil pumps are great! Auto Verdi are even more fun…
- Timing Chains
- Timing Chain Ramps
- Chain Tensioners
